Think More, Not Less: Leading AI Integration in IB Schools
Students are using AI – for research, for drafting, sometimes as a shortcut. IB provides guidance on acceptable versus unacceptable AI use, but school leaders need practical strategies to help students think more, not less, when using AI.
This session provides:
- Frameworks you can implement school-wide
- Clear guidance on AI use that deepens learning
- Protocols for making student thinking visible throughout the process, and authentication approaches that help students demonstrate ownership of their ideas.
Michele Lackovic is an IB Workshop Leader and Senior Examiner who trains educators globally on Literature, Extended Essay, and AI integration. Her work bridges literary analysis, research skills, and emerging technology. She’s a published curriculum author with HarperCollins and Pearson International and serves as domain expert for AI labs developing K-12 education applications. Currently an MYP Coordinator and DP teacher in Palm Beach County, Michele tests all frameworks in her own classroom before scaling them through professional development.
