What's new in Kognity for IB DP
This school year, Kognity does more of the heavy lifting. We’ve been busy adding features and updates across the platform: more realistic exam practice, quicker feedback, a clearer picture for school leaders, and new subjects. Here’s what’s new, and how it helps you and your students.
Now also available: Kognity for MYP
Kognity for MYP gives teachers a curriculum-aligned starting point, with units scoped, concepts mapped, and assessments structured. ATL skills are built into activities and tied to assessment criteria rather than tacked on, and the content is designed so students can also work through it independently. It’s a modular course, so you can take what works for your class. Available now, starting with Integrated Sciences for MYP Years 4 and 5.
IB DP Computer Science
You can now teach IB DP Computer Science with Kognity. This new resource gives you full SL and HL coverage, complete with embedded coding environments and dual-language programming in Java and Python, as well as Paper 1 and Paper 2 exam-style questions to practice with.
Exam-style questions are fully interactive
Students can now submit their exam practice on the platform, and you can view every submission, score it, and give feedback in one place. Questions are easy to find and quick to assign, so putting them in front of your class only takes a couple of clicks. Kognity makes exam prep a natural process for your students, so they can arrive in exam season confident and ready.
Autoscoring: cut grading time, keep control
Kognity’s new autoscoring feature not only suggests scores based on real IB assessment requirements, but also explains how it reached them. It was developed with expert IB examiners and learning designers, built on a straightforward principle: AI can suggest, but a teacher always reviews and decides what reaches students.
A school-wide view with the new Admin Dashboard
For coordinators and school leaders, the new Admin Dashboard gives a clear overview of usage across the whole school, with the option to look inside individual classrooms. At a glance you can see where teachers might need a hand, follow student progress, and decide where your time and resources will make the most difference.
New answer formats
Whether it’s a worked equation in Mathematics, a labeled diagram in the sciences, a structured response in English… Kognity now supports formatted text, mathematical notation, and drawing, so students can submit their answers on the platform in the right way.
Private notes for you, feedback for your students
Teachers can now leave private notes on a student’s submission, either just for their own reference or as feedback to send straight to the student. It’s a simple way to keep track of what you’re noticing across a class assignment or activity, and to respond individually without juggling a separate spreadsheet.
