Webinar | IB Mathematics: Assessment in a Digital Classroom

Now that most of the world is settled in online teaching practises, time to focus on assessment. How are we going to assess learning? How can we identify the evidence of learning in our digital classrooms? In this webinar, we discuss the teaching/learning and assessment practices in IB Mathematics classrooms using technology. Digital assessment tools as well as examples of different types of assessments are also shared and discussed. This is followed by a 15 minute Q&A.

About the host: Nuriye Sirinoglu

Nuriye Sirinoglu has been teaching IBMYP and IBDP Mathematics HL/SL for over 25 years. She has a wide range of experiences in international schools as a teacher and as a head of the department of mathematics. She has a particular interest in developing inquiry-based teaching/learning materials which encourage the use of technology to improve conceptual understandings while ensuring necessary mathematical skills are not overlooked. She says her mission is to bring the joy of learning back into Mathematics classrooms and help the teachers to do so. Nuriye is also an examiner for IB Mathematics HL and co-author of the IBDP Mathematics textbook and digital books. Most recently she is based in Germany enjoying the new challenges brought by online teaching.
