Webinar: How to engage your digital classroom

This webinar will help you create an engaging space for learning and a sense of community and normalcy for your students when they can’t be in a physical classroom. It will include tips and guidance on motivating students, encouraging self-management, reducing stress, and tools that can help. This is hosted by Tahnja Wilson, a global thought leader on online learning.

About the host: Tahnja Wilson

Tahnja is a global thought leader on online education. After years in the healthcare field, using her MIM and MBA, Tahnja earned her elementary education certificate and designed and taught her own award winning technology curriculum to K-8 students incorporating many of the higher ed buzz words of today (before they were higher ed buzz words) including personalized learning, flipped learning, and project-based learning.

In 2009, she went to Arizona State University (ASU) to redesign in-person courses for the online environment. She led the initial design of courses and content for the Starbucks Global Academy project on an online open source platform using open education resources. She also designed, implemented, and managed the online student orientation program as part of the Starbucks College Achievement Plan, which resulted in increased student satisfaction, retention and GPA and decreased withdrawals for degree completion and first-generation students.

Since leaving ASU in 2017, her attention has been on consulting to increase the capacity of educators and professional development organizations to realize personalized and competency-based learning internationally. Her educational focus is on gaming, best practices, and moving students and instructors to a place where they love learning — especially online learning.
